Kuroki Igo Day special offers (February, 2020)

Post by bogiesan »

Several curated sets are on sale to celebrate "Amazon Japan and USA Thanks Fair". Savings on beautiful three-piece sets appear to be 30-35% but do the math. Sets are priced from 40,000 JPY to 1,200,000 JPY, down from list prices of 58,000 JPY to 2,100,000 JPY.

Here's one example from the mid-range at 32% discount:
Size 43 BLUE LABEL(12.2 mm thick).
Karin (Chinese quince) Go Bowls For size 47 stones, XXXL
Shin-kaya 9 cm One-piece board.
149,000 JPY, regular 220,000 JPY (plus shipping, of course)

Disclosure: I am not affiliated with Kuroki in any way. I am a satisfied customer who believes supporting the traditional Japanese craftsmen who work for Kuroki is a responsible and rewarding investment in old school go. I do not believe you could ever regret owning any of Kuroki's superbly made equipment.

These are truly wonderful sets. They radiate a sense of craftsmanship that is hard to find nowadays. The simple shapes and natural materials - slate, shell and wood - almost cry out to be played with. I bought a Kuroki set from the job money I earned with my first holiday job, many years ago and I'm still very fond and proud of it.
