Toby Manning (UK): "Subscriptions should be based on the number of active players on the EGD stronger than 10 kyu, and should be set at a rate of 3 Euro/active player, with a minimum subscription of 50 Euro".

At first sight it looks like an improvement on the old system to me. Members with lots of players, who are thus more likely to participate in EGF events, are going to pay more for those. It also opens up a straightforward route to let National Federations introduce 'Pay to Play' based membership.

That is right, after a marathon meeting we did it!

At first sight it looks like an improvement on the old system to me.

It is, and hopefully it is fair and simple enough to be practical for the future. Basing the fee on the number of active 10k+ players means that the contribution depends directly on the level of activity in each country and NOs can collect this money with membership fees or tournament entry fees as they see fit. It is also a big plus that the total fee should grow naturally with more players.
