Personal seki record

Post by jts »

This was kind of cool. At the end of the game there are six chains of stones in temporary seki. (Only "kind of" cool because S14 is dead, so turning all those into seki was sort of wasted effort by W...)

Ha! That's pretty entertaining. Its a shame they didn't settle into actual seki in the end.

A shame! That would have been a tragedy!

So close but no cigar! :) I don't know if you know, but there has actually been a pro game with six permanent sekis. It was discovered by T Mark Hall and is in the chapter Seky Sekis of GoGoD's Go Companion.

This appears to be not just a seki record but also a record for most live groups in a game (13, I think). The record for a pro game without sekis appears to be 9.

Something that locally looks like seki, but one of the groups involved in the local seki is dead.
