Well, I haven't written any poetry in awhile, so I figured I'd spin a tale about Go in one.

This is what it's about (Spoiler if you'd like to come to your own conclusion):
A boy has been training under his master for some time now during a time of civil war. His master was some kind of soldier, and had decided to take the student on and train him. The scene depicted in the poem explains how the war has finally ended and the people have rejoiced the fact that the civil war is over.

But the master died with a single stone in his breast pocket, and that stone was passed on to the pupil, who found out the next day. However, this day is a bitter sweet day for it is also the day the student won a massive victory. So, he realizes that it's only through death that we finally discover what life truly is.

Yes, it's a rather simple story.

That day I held a stone with my fingers
It was the first day I was truly alive
Feeling the delightful beams of the sun
Dancing across my face

No blood was lost on that one day
It was the first day I was at peace
The people smiled all around me
Tipping their hats with a rare cheerfulness

It was on that day I learned to sing
My stones echoing the verse of my heart
Displayed across the board for all to see
No longer afraid to hide behind a mask

Your words were entombed in my mind
That day I held a stone painted scarlet
It was the first day I was truly alive
Through only death do we know what life is
Slava Ukraini!
