Dan mistakes in rengo

Post by Joaz Banbeck »

The following is me and a 2D vs a 2D and a 5D. Well, we looked like DDKs at times. The first mistake was move 9, the second move 10. We continued so throughout the game, even making mistakes in the counting. In our defense, I note that it was 5 minutes plus byoyomi.

I post it here for your amusment and maybe for your enlightenment ( I don't learn from my mistakes, but maybe someone else can. )

Homer Simpson as Max Power: There are three ways to do things: The right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power Way!
Lisa Simpson: Isn't that the wrong way?
Homer: Yes, but faster!

Can't be any worse than my mistakes. (I need to go over a bunch of my recent bad losses to figure out which one I should post here for a review.)

Funny, I definitely don't expect to see 9 in a dan game. Seems more likely it was a brain fart (i.e., accidentally clicked on the wrong side of the white stones) than a genuine thinking mistake...

Wrong side? The block on other side is also a mistake. The hane here is at least difficult (after clamp, can descend and then turn and it's very messy).

I see dans play this block all the time on both Tygem and KGS (I play double sansan and this turn all the time).
