I'm starting a new project along with Russian room on KGS, a series of online tournaments with cash prizes to the winners.

1st 100$ Tournament

Tournament Schedule

1. Saturday-Sunday 19-20 of May, 6 rounds (3 rounds per day)
2. Registration until 19.05.2012
3. Style: Single elimination
4. Rules: japanese, There are no handicaps. All games should be played even. Time settings: 20 min main time + 3x30 sec byo yomi.
5. Room: Play The Game (under Social)
6. Prize: 1st place - 100$ (can be transferred via paypal or web money) 2nd place - KGS+ subscription for 3 months

What are the hours of the tournament? I'm guessing time zones will make it impossible for me, but I would like to know when to check it out.

The tournament is scheduled for 19-20 May, the first round will start at 3pm GMT (9 am EDT).

I hope I didn't mess up with time zones.

Question about the tournament mode:

What does 6 rounds single elemination mean ? Will there be 6 complete rounds of single elimination, do you hope the tournament doesn't becomes to big for a single elemination tournament with 6 rounds but it might be that there will be only 5 rounds with less players or something else I miss ?

Yes, you're right. The tournament is scheduled for 6 rounds in case there is 64 players. But I believe we won't reach that number, so there will be less rounds (it depends on the amount of registered players). So far 12 players registered, it means we have 4 rounds.

To tell you the truth, I chose the same time settings as for King of Kings tournament on Tygem. First, I wanted to make it 30 min but then 1 round would take 2 hours. So far I want the tournament to be within 2 days during the weekend.

In any case for the future my goal is to make tournament with longer time control.
