I've been playing Go off and on, mostly off, for the past 8 years. I've been away for the past couple of years but want to really start playing again. I have an issue where after I play a game I need a cool-off period before I can start a new one, so I've been looking for a community where I can socialize a bit before games.

In the past this has lead to me not playing as much as I should but this time is different. Since I've renewed my old IGS, KGS, DGS, etc accounts I've played a couple of games, started a couple of games on DGS. Much better than in the past.

I'm still hoping to find the social side as well, which is how I found this website.

A couple of years ago there was a number of active clubs that would have a couple of members online at all times, more during peak times. I've googled it now and it looks like they've all died off.

Where have all the online go players gone? Despite playing more I am awfully discouraged.

I just joined the ASR, which seems to be what I need. Social chat, lots of games with reviews after.
