Streaming my Go studies!

Post by WanekGo »

Hello everyone! My name is Michael, and I am a 4d AGA, 2d KGS player who has been studying since 2007. I have recently created a twitch.tv channel to broadcast my studies, and I thought I would announce it to this community. I stream Sundays at 5:00PM PST and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights at 10:30PM PST at http://twitch.tv/WanekGo.

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights are fairly strict. I am broadcasting my personal study routine, which consists of solving L&D, tesuji, and endgame problems, and memorizing professional games. I occasionally play on these nights, but for the most part I am studying while commenting on the problems and games I'm looking over.

Sunday nights I follow my study routine as well, but I am a little more flexible. I do game reviews, play simul games, teaching games, and other various things, based on what the audience wants to see. Every once and a while I get to play much stronger players, to demonstrate just how easy it is to beat up on an AGA 4d.

Finally, depending on how much time I have, I will occasionally do unscheduled broadcasts, lasting from 2 to 10 hours, where I go on playing sprees, peppered with L&D study during downtime between games.

As it stands, the stream is essentially a broadcast of my studies, but I am working diligently to create additional teaching and entertainment content. I don't want to make promises I can't keep, so I'll spare you the details of my plans, but I will keep my viewers informed on any upcoming special broadcasts via my Facebook page. I know a lot of you are probably too strong for this broadcast to be anything but mildly entertaining, but I hope some newer players will tune in and learn with me! Thanks!
