No, it pops up in quite a few books on life and death.

Y... Yes? Hundreds? Depending on your definitions of "similar" and "rules", of course.

Re: The future of Human vs Computer Go in a post-AG world.

So then, we are left with 3 possibilities: ⋅ Top pro VS supercomputer, while putting things on more common ground without giving a handicap or a surplus of moves or stones (ie purposely degrading the computer performance) ⋅ Top pro VS top pro ⋅ Supercomputer VS ...

Re: Go4Go App for Android

I have the App for about 5 minutes and I like it lot. What I would like to have is...

1. Pattern Search and
2. Marking dead stones in the SE.

But that has been said already. Keep up your great work!

Re: Winning Mindset

This reminds of the Gungi match between the Ant King and Komugi in Hunter x Hunter. Highly recommended!

Yeah, being serious about the game is necessary, but it also depends on the context. A friendly game in a café is something else as a tournament game. Maybe make a bet with a friend: If you lose ...

Re: Winning Mindset

I haven't read the thread in detail, so my points may have emerged already one way or the other. But the two most effective ways to get better concentration (apart from trying to concentrate more and more often) are:

1. Meditation: About 20 minutes every day are enough to help you to focus on the ...

Re: How do you like this pincer?

I'd argue it's not the right question but the wrong question points in an interesting direction, one thing that is raised here is that the OP didn't see the mistakes in the corner as if they realised they got a raw deal in the corner after the pincer the question wouldn't be about the pincer being ...

Re: How do you like this pincer?

While I can understand the idea that Joelnelsonb's biggest mistake might not have been a pincer, I can see his point in that it can still be good, as a teacher, to answer the question.

Recently I feel passionate about the idea that, a student can learn when he or she is motivated. When they are ...

Lost on time

I just read about the tragic incident of the second game of the 50th Oza title match: Cho Chikun lost on time because he didn't realize it was his turn to move.

My question is: How often does it happen, that pros loose on time? Say in a relatively important match with sensible time settings (so ...

As far as I know, they go to Beijing for training and have currently no planned games in Japan.
