Hey man, think we just played a game on DGS. GG by the way!
I'd recommend checking out Yon-ro no Go (4x4 go puzzles for children) and the additional puzzle book. Didn't see it mentioned here and I thought it might be something you'd be interested in.

Re: Did I suddenly get worse?
Don't worry, I think I'm getting worse too (or I'm staying the same and everyone else is getting better...).
Actually, I find being bad at chess way more stressful. But, just don't be afraid to loose, I guess.

Re: New Idea
So sorry for not messaging sooner. I'm in the city running errands today so I won't be able to join you. Go on without me and I can meet up with you all next week. Thanks (^_^)v

Re: Learning Japanese
Hey, since you seem to be enjoying the Hikaru no Go manga, you should put the words you look up into an Anki deck (a free software for the PC: http://ankisrs.net/ ) and review them again later.
They also have an application for the iPhone but it cost money. It syncs with the decks you ...

Re: Learning Japanese
In regards to Remembering the Kanji: it maybe different for different people, but I don't think the words are that far off from he actual meaning of the kanji.
Also, 月 is a pretty easy kanji to remember so I think it won't be too easily confused. I know you were just using "moon/meat" as an ...

Re: Learning Japanese
If you're speaking with a Japanese person you don't know well, speaking like most anime characters will be quite rude.
Yes and no. For the most part, Japanese people are blown away if a foreigner can say "Hello" in Japanese (unless they're Brazilian). However, I've often cringed at the sound of ...

Re: Go on Mac
See, I only use Sen:te when I want to play the computer because, although it can access IGS, I can't access IGS from Japan (that is, unless I want to pay an annual fee).
I know they're busy, but I'm really anxious to see SmartGo for Mac!!

Well, let's aim for another time inorder to let hailthorn prepare. This is usually a good time for me, since I don't have work on the weekends (for the most part).
Another good time might be Saturday night your time (although tomorrow I'll be busy making 1000 pieces of sushi till 9pm EST).

Re: New Idea
If that is what you want to do, by all means. I can try 9:00, it's just that, as I said, it can be an iffy proposition at times. We could at least try it out for a week and if I never show up adjust it from there I appreciate what you're doing a lot and hate to have you on call for such a chunk of ...
Re: New Idea
We can start from 9(ish). That's totally fine with me. It will give me some time to work on some stuff before we meet. Maybe we can go for 1~2 hours? I'll see you around then.
Re: New Idea
Hi, I'm kinda interested in doing these sessions! Hope I can keep up
P.S. I was hit in the head with a desktop PC once... so now I'm a notebook user. At least until I've overcome my fear of desktops

Go Basics

That was actually the first book on Go that I read. It was a really nice introduction to the game, and I'm glad that's where I started. Also, I personally like how it teaches you everything on 9x9.

Hey Adam, nice to meet you!
I've been enjoying DGS a lot just because I don't have the time to play live. Playing turned based also allows me to continue thinking about strategy that can be applied in live games when I have the chance to play then.
However~
