Re: review tygem game
Thanks Calvin Clark & nasdaq. I might have the wrong idea about what to do with a framework and what priorities I should give to reducing/invading my opponents framework versus building up my own (probably it should be: if your opponent is getting a bigger/more easily defended framework, then reduce ...

An unknown, new AI is crushing pro's on Tygem by the dozen. This post could use a more sensationalist title! Some words in caps at least

Well, if you would play a human opponent, would it matter that they had more time or less time to play their moves?

Do you give yourself the same time to play as the bot?

Re: leela strength
@Anzu, being 13kyu and taking a 9-stone handicap from it in the rated mode, I probably shouldn't worry too much about how strong it is playing relative to say the Leelabot on KGS. In the rated mode it plays out up to a fixed amount of simulations while not taking up more than 30 minutes per game, so ...

leela strength
I'm trying to find out how much time I should give Leela to spend on each game on my old laptop to get it to about 4dan. Can somebody who has an external reference for the playing strength of Leela on their computer give an indication for the amount of simulations per move it usually does when ...

GGPFB2 nr. 186 how to stop white intrusion
What if white plays 2 at 3? After black playing at 2, white can go under?

It went quite well until
I played as black and made some silly moves. Please help me make less silly moves.
My own remarks:
Mistake. Better extend G7 because else white g7. I didn't realize this was such an important move.
Mistake. This doesn't do anything. Still G7. Defending/strengthening top group.
Argh.
L5 better ...

Re: 13kyu game with a few questions
@Majordomo, maybe it can be a start to focus a bit more on timing. When is it time too reduce, invade? When is it time to defend groups etc. When can I take a big point. About the territories: I think you are right. I'll see if I can get a couple of handicap games going. Maybe I'm taking territory ...

@Skydyr. Thanks for taking the time to comment my game, I'll go and read up on aji-keshi. Very helpful what you did with

13kyu game with a few questions
I played as white. Following comments I got on earlier games I'm now working through Get Strong at Tesuji and reading Tesuji and Antisuji of Go (which I find a bit difficult). I hope this will help me read out tactical situations with more confidence to make more informed strategic decisions. I ...
