The photos make all of that equipment look stunning. It's all absolutely beautiful. And, considering the quality, the prices seem decent.

Re: Guide to Cleaning Go Stones (Slate and Shell)
Is it true that wooden bowls can sometimes stain clamshell stones is the stones are not used often enough?

Re: Happy Birthday to me :D
From what company did you purchase your equipment?
Kurokigoishiten.
Google it, it's the first result. They just revamped their online shop with new boards and a new check-out system (e.g. calculating shipping costs automatically, etc).
Thanks. Yes, they have BEAUTIFUL equipment. I may follow ...

Re: Your Go study space
My Japanese relatives cheat when sitting formally on the floor. Well, they cheat when among family. "Cheat" means that the legs are still bent at the knees but the shins are to one side as the butt rests on the floor. When numbness starts to set it, the legs move so that the shins are either ...

I'm not mean enough to spray Pledge on the cat!
One of the cat's many nicknames is "Barf-beast" and she's still at it -- just not on the cheapie go board.

For once, I'm glad I have an inexpensive go board
I've been lusting after a 1-piece board for quite some time now. I have a folding board that resides on our coffee table that doesn't get nearly enough use (it's for studying!). Well, yesterday, I became completely grateful that I have a cheapie.
Overnight, the cat barfed on the board.

Go Stores in Tokyo and Toyama?
I may be going on a trip to both Tokyo and Toyama in the next month and I was wondering what stores I might check out. Ideally, I'd love to get a solid table goban (approximately 2 sun thick) with nice 32+ sized stones. In an ideal world, a 1-piece kaya board would be great but I live in LA and ...
