Really awful game...

Post by KongShou »

Hi there!

Its me again, and this time its a particularly awful game that i played against the computer. I'm still a complete noob, and i decided that the best way that i am going to improve is to show you lot the worst games i play to find out what my vital errors are. Don't be too harsh on me guys, i only started properly for like a week, less than that, i dunno, cant remember. Its bad, i know.

looking back, i realised that i spend too much time on the bottom left corner, and should have expanded my big territory at top, W70 is particularly painful and i believe thats what lost me the game.

another slightly better game:

Hi KongShou, Congrats and welcome to Go! :) If you have not finished 100 games yet,
I highly recommend that you complete 100 games as quickly as your time allows.
Board size doesn't matter so much -- 9x9, 13x13, 19x19, etc. are all OK --
so you can finish more games on the smaller boards faster.

Your second game was better. You had no really big mistakes. The worst that I could say was that you made a lot of unduly conservative moves, strengthening yourself instead of going after the opponent's weaknesses.
Just be a tad more aggressive and you will get several stones stronger.

BTW, there is an important idea in the comment to move 27. Make sure you read it.
